FAQ

Frequently
Asked
Questions

General

Are your products safe?

All of our products are FDA approved and bought directly from the manufacturer.

Do you numb the area for all procedures?

Not all procedures require the treatment area to be numbed; however, we will be happy to do it for any of them on request.

Are there any side effects?

The most common side effects from treatments are bruising, soreness and possible swelling. Aside from using ice, we recommend applying arnica gel/cream to promote healing. For specific product side effects, please refer to the respective manufacturer website.

What is the difference between BOTOX® and fillers?

BOTOX® paralyzes certain muscles to keep them from contracting, subsequently smoothing out the wrinkles in that designated area. Fillers inject a gel under the skin where the substance expands and lifts the dermal layer to level out wrinkles and deemphasize them.

What if my side effects are worsening or not going away?

You should contact us immediately at (914) 821-6564 or margarita@imageoasisny.com and provide pictures so we can evaluate your condition.

What if I am not feeling well on my appointment date?

We ask that anyone not feeling well, no matter how minor they think it is, to reschedule their appointment for the safety of our staff and patients.

Do you offer free consultations?

Yes! Image Oasis is committed to giving you the ability to learn about how we can address your cosmetic concerns in an informative and pressure-free environment. Like all appointments, it is subject to our cancellation policy.

BOTOX®

Does getting BOTOX® hurt?

For neurotoxins, the needle used for application is extremely small and feels like a mosquito bite.

Can BOTOX® be done with other procedures?

Yes, BOTOX® can be done in combination with fillers.

Can I get face treatments after receiving BOTOX® or fillers?

We do not recommend getting any additional face treatments until 2 weeks after your appointment.

When will I see results?

Typically, you will see the results after 5-7 days.

When should I not get BOTOX®?

If you are allergic to any of the ingredients, pregnant or breastfeeding, have a skin infection at the injection site, cancer or have serious muscle and nerve conditions.

Can I smoke or drink alcohol after BOTOX®?

We recommend avoiding smoking and alcohol for 48 hours after treatment.

When should I schedule BOTOX®?

Due to the possibility of bruising, we recommend scheduling 2 weeks prior to any special events.

What is the difference between BOTOX® and Dysport®?

These products are made of the same protein, but offered by different companies. While dosed differently, the number of injection sites and cost of the procedure are identical.

Fillers

Does getting fillers hurt?

Inside the syringe is a numbing agent that will help you tolerate the discomfort. In addition, we can numb the injection site with a numbing agent and ice.

Can fillers be done with other procedures?

Fillers can be done in combination with BOTOX®.

Who should not get fillers?

You should not get fillers if you had any vaccination in the past 4 weeks, dental work or laser treatments in the area in the past 2 weeks, permanent implants of any kind in the treatment area, active skin condition or infection in the treatment area. You should not get fillers if you are pregnant or nursing, have autoimmune conditions or if you’ve experienced rashes after injections or are allergic to lidocaine.

How long do fillers last?

At minimum, fillers are expected to last 4 months but can last up to a year. The duration is dependent on age, body type, lifestyle and sun exposure.

What are fillers made with?

There are different types of fillers on the market, but in our office, we only use hyaluronic acid fillers. Hyaluronic acid is a compound found naturally in the body.

Why does the same brand offer different filler products?

Each brand offers different formulations to provide optimal results for a specific treatment area. For example, a formulation made for the lips may not work as well in the cheeks.

KYBELLA®

Who should not get KYBELLA®?

It is recommended to not get KYBELLA® if you have had or plan to have surgery on your face, neck, or chin, have had cosmetic treatments on your face, neck, or chin, have had or have medical conditions in or near the neck area, have had or have trouble swallowing, have bleeding problems, are pregnant or plan to become pregnant, are breastfeeding or plan to breastfeed or have an infection in the treatment area.

Can fat come back after KYBELLA®?

Although KYBELLA® destroys the fat cell completely, it is possible for new cells to develop and come back with weight gain.

How long after KYBELLA® will I see results?

It will take approximately 2-3 weeks to see results.

When should I book this procedure?

Generally, you should expect several days of redness and swelling in the area and should plan the appointment accordingly.

Can I get KYBELLA® with other injectables?

You can as long as they are not in the same area.

How does KYBELLA® compare to CoolSculpting® for double chin?

KYBELLA® is faster and more direct since it is an injection and the procedure only takes a few minutes. CoolSculpting® takes over an hour to perform, can be uncomfortable to receive and can affect all layers of the skin. In our experience, KYBELLA® is more effective.

While not every microneedling device is FDA approved, we use MicroPen® EVO by Eclipse, which is!

When will I see changes after face/skin treatment?

Some people will notice changes within the first week, but for most people, significant changes come after 3-4 weeks.

Will my skin look worse after microneedling?

After your appointment, it may look like you have mild sunburn for 24-48 hours after treatment. We will give you a cooling mask after the procedure to decrease redness and discomfort.

Can PRP regrow hair?

PRP is a safe and effective way to reverse hair loss and create new hair growth.

Am I a candidate for PRP hair restoration treatment?

In general, the best candidates are those who have just started losing their hair or have hair loss starting no longer than 6 years ago. Due to the variables influencing potential outcomes of this procedure, we recommend scheduling a free consultation to give you a realistic expectation of results.
